Drains, dresses and diplomas!
My house has played host to many guests. I have thrown dinner parties, lunch get togethers, drinks functions and even a couple of weddings here and there! It is perfect for entertaining and my friends and family take great advantage of this. The latest event I am throwing is a graduation party for my eldest grandson. Of course it cannot be simple. The party is in two weeks and I am spending most of my time coordinating drain inspections in Melbourne. It’s not as strange as it sounds. The drains have been gurgling a lot recently and rather than have a pipe explode on all my guests I figured it would be best to get it looked at first. I have a very lengthy to do list before the big party, top of which is the drain issue but I also have to sort out the caterers, the band and arrange some extra seating. When the plumbers arrived I was shocked to see how much the industry has advanced since my day! This was a very technical operation involving camera drain inspections! Drain camera inspections in Melbourne are apparently very common these days and the best way to assess the problem. I told them as long as their fancy drain equipment sorted out the problem in time for the party I didn’t mind where they put their cameras! With the drains being taken care of I finally had time to go and find a suitable dress. I hadn’t been to, let alone hosted, a graduation party in quite some time so I was not entirely sure what the dress code normally is. I figured if I was overdressed I could simply blame it on being the host, a host never looks shabby. Also, it’s not every day your grandson graduates from university!
